RE: Depression #61
Mothered, you are absolutely correct. It will affect your life and everything you do. Even a little depression can change your ways or lead you in a different or wrong direction. The " Mental" part of us or life is powerful. Depression can reak havoc on every part of your body. The thing is, there's nothing wrong with getting help or nothing to be ashamed of. Life sucks sometimes, and it's completely natural to get some depression. Some handle it better than others. But, if u need to, get the help. They have everything from counselors, social workers, to Pay Docs. Find one, even if it takes 20 different Docs, find one you are comfortable with and get that nasty depression behind you and you will develop skills to handle it in the future too. Some meds help, some don't. Find out what works.

Please oh please don't let it eat you away to a point where very bad things happen or you are thinking of taking your own life. Don't. That will be your Legacy, and the people around you will be destroyed forever. You never know what tomorrow may bring. Seriously. This bullshit idea it isn't right or manly to get help for your mind or sadness or depression is bullshit. Your mind, when strong, will fight every day for you and keep you through the battles that everyone faces in life.

There's a few on here who helped me through my shit. Still battling, and some people wonder why I haven't snapped yet cause of the bull I had to deal with. Well I fought, people here helped, and my victories are piling up. Almost done, and I will keep fighting back. And a few will get some things coming to them. Stay strong

And thanks to those of you who helped me through. I can't express in words how thankful I am. Now, let's do what we do and kick some ass (wink). Peace

Attitude plays an Integral role In beating depression, and you've certainly demonstrated that many times over- your above comments Included.

Remember to live your life under conditions that "you" decide, and do not allow the behavior of others to Impact your emotional state.

Even celebrities have suffered depression at some point in their life. Life is a roller coaster of ups and downs. We should be mentally ready for all that. Depression is not the end of life. It is in our hands to show people around us that our emotions cannot be toyed with and we are in charge of our life.

I think this plays a significant role In treating depression.

As someone who has BPD and struggles with depression or mania dependent on whatever the hell causes my highs and lows, this is one of the biggest things that has helped regular my moods. Just attempting to get rid of any negativitiy in my life has been such a help with my lows.

It's nice to read that you've Identified the negativity side of things, and taken action by attempting to remove all thoughts from your emotional state.

By no means Is It a simple task -wellness and happiness Is a day to day challenge that needs to be faced/tackled head on. Sylvester Stallone has summed It up nicely:

Your friends and relatives who are so close to you, especially the ones that understand you and accept you the way you are, play a major role in warding off your negativity. My friend is bipolar and her husband and son are so supportive of her.
