Experiments have been conducted on automated driving systems (ADS) since at least the 1920s; trials began in the 1950s. The first semi-automated car was developed in 1977, by Japan's Tsukuba Mechanical Engineering Laboratory, which required specially marked streets that were interpreted by two cameras on the vehicle and an analog computer. The vehicle reached speeds up to 30 kilometres per hour (19 mph) with the support of an elevated rail... That is not anything new, man)

I shouldn't laugh, but that article is hilarious. For those who haven't read the article, the families of people who have died in car crashes in Tesla's are suing Tesla for wrongful death. However, Elon Musk has essentially advised that people are becoming overconfident in using the assistive technology. Then the article goes on to say this....

People couldn’t wait to upload videos sitting in the backseat while their cars drove “autonomously” down the highway. Tesla responded by updating its software to require drivers to keep their hands on the steering wheel — which seemed like a smart fix until one driver figured out all you needed to do to fool the system was wedge an orange against the wheel to simulate the pressure of a human hand. “Autopilot Buddy” was a piece of magnetic plastic that attaches to the steering wheel in order to create the impression that the driver is keeping his or her hands there. Federal regulators issued a cease and desist order to prevent its sale. People love tricking technology, even if it could cost them their lives.

I agree. At the end of the day, technology is designed and created by humans. Therefore, it is likely to be flawed.

If you mean tesla models - yes, I've heard about that. Future has already became. I have been searching markets and I must confess there are a lot of cheap Tesla cars in states,  like Florida of California. Especially Tesla Model S. But I didn't think it's gonna be a cheap option to transport it. Then I started looking how to transport a car to another state and found https://howtotransport.com wich can ship a car to any state in USA. I will think about this opportunity because self-driving car is a good option to buy ( cheaper then usual market values)

I think it's more than Tesla now, though I can never recall who else is offering it, nor where.
