You could automate a password reset via HTTP and SMS if you have access to their phone. API hooking or credential harvesting for PC. I don't think bruteforce is an option. You could go for a classic phishing page.

Bruteforcing is not an option, its completely idiotic. What he could do is use a wordlist.
Another thing is as you mention, to set up a phishing page, based on the intelligence of the thread-maker i would suggest phishing page as you wrote as well.

but anyway, i would go for the key logger ^^. first make friends with that person and become real nice.... get him to install a game(or some other software you modified) and boom!! your able to
log him.(i guess)
