bet that swap wasn't cheap!

$4,800 car
$4,000 engine
a few grand with the little bits that i needed to make it all line up
and about 2 years worth of fixing problems

my project car sounds like shit but hey i can fix just about anything with under $150
EH2 Hatch, JDM D15B / Z6 minime swap, a whole fuckload of suspension + brake bullshit (this thing sees a lot of twisty mountain roads)

Sounds like turbos Tongue I need to get a friend to record my g37 from outside the cabin. She sounds gnarly for a NA 6, but a phone + windows up doesn't do any justice, and windows down is nothing but wind...

I know this is cliche, but I personally love the sound of the Ferrari F430 Scuderia. I once had the pleasure of being at a red light with one and the driver floored it when the light turned green. Videos really don't do it justice.

I had a similar experience around a month ago, whereby a Ferrari (not sure on the model, It was that fast) flew by me and It sounded Incredible.

I was going 60mph on the highway and It passed me as If I was stationary.

Those moments are always amazing. Around here it's always subarus or 350z's that do that. If traffic is clear or light I'll usually chase after them. Actually had a 370z manage to pull away from me, he had the traction that I couldn't get.

Same here with Subarus. A few years ago, the Subaru Impreza WRX was very popular with the rev heads.

In terms of the 370z, they're very quick stock standard. In fact, they hit the quarter mile anywhere In the 13 second range.

There's a major problem with STI ownership here in the Seattle area, too many people confuse them with race cars.

Also keep in mind I'm not talking about flat straight's. These are small bank highways, where traction in the corners and torque up the mountains is what matters.

I see, now I understand.

That's a big difference, whereby (as opposed to a straight run) It's demanding on a few of the vehicle's resources.

That's part of the reason I think we have a rampant street racing issue here in Washington (we actually have street signs banning street races BETWEEN 10pm and 6am). All these tracks you find are actually set up for high speeds, but we aren't looking for speed at all. There's a nice road about an hour south of me that's all unbanked corners on a cliff face with 1 straight. I can have fun on that road at 80mph, no need for me to push any farther. Just the feeling of having to be in constant control of what ratio you're in, holding your speed until the last moment and then making the brakes glow before the turn (ceramics, so its safe), actually keeping a racing line and being either mid or left side for most of it, and paying very close attention to your suspension. All of that just gives you a type of thrill that you just can't experience by driving fast alone, it's the concept of if you fuck up you probably won't survive. Some tracks can give the same effect, but they tend to limit speeds during those turns. We just want a place that we can go have fun. highway 18 here is basically the autobahn, a critical mass of drivers just keep their right foot on the floor from end to end, so cops dont even patrol there anymore.
