RE: Time To Get Glasses #11
Can't remember the first day but i remember when i got rid of them and it was a great feeling.

Everyone should learn how to code, it teaches you how to think.

You don't have to be a Genius to know how to code you just need to be determined.

The computer is incredibly fast, accurate, and stupid; man is unbelievably slow, inaccurate, and brilliant; together they are powerful beyond imagination.

I constantly need glasses to see long-term distance, but not always use them, sometimes also replace wth contacts.

Computer has caused this I'd assume from the countless hours spent online but the first time round wasn't too bad. You just kinda need to adjust to the feeling.
If they are stronger than what you're suppose to be you might feel like life turned into a 1080p resolution.

From my personal experience with getting glasses and then changing prescriptions, I never experienced headaches, and had no idea anybody ever got headaches from that. Hopefully you will not.

The weirdest part is the way your eyes will automatically try to focus the way they have been for years, and you'll notice the new lenses will contradict that focus and force them to focus differently. This is a very non-technical description, but that's how it's always felt to me. Within hours/days/weeks you notice it less and less as your eyes adjust. The next thing you notice is the feel and weight of the glasses on your face and ears. Depending on the style, you will have a different experiences with this. However, similar to the visual adjustment, you will eventually stop noticing the feel of them. For me, this would happen to the point where I'd either forget I was wearing my glasses, or forget that I didn't have them on.

Maybe it has to do with what kind of monitor you use or how often you take breaks. That being said, I did wear prescription glasses when I was younger.

Same with me so far...

Perfectly explained.

You've mentioned everything right from what to expect, how the eyes adjust, the feeling (facially) and finally how you get accommodated to wearing them. Thank you, If my doctor doesn't mention It, you just did.

Why did you get rid of them?

I have heard (don't know how true this Is), that your eyes can get corrected with glasses. Or perhaps laser eye surgery did the trick.

Great! I'm pleased I was helpful.

If I could also add something else: The possibility of your eyes being corrected with glasses is entirely dependent on the problem with your sight. Which I was told as a child, so may need to be confirmed by your professional. The likelihood should be explained to you after an eye examination, but if not, be sure to ask - glasses are not that cheap!

You certainly have been of big help, thank you very much.

You're correct about the cost of glasses, they're not cheap. I was given a range of what I'd expect to pay.

They would be cheap except there is one company that owns almost all eyeglass companies and they feel the more you pay the better.

In fairness, I'm not sure what US prices are for glasses. Under 18 I paid 12GBP for my glasses (they would have been free if it weren't for the extras I wanted on the lenses like thinning the glass, scratch resistance etc). My only experience is with UK pricing.

But, $400 freaking dollars!?! Tell me that's a designer price?!
I think it's common knowledge that designer does not necessarily equate to better quality. However, for a decent quality, your average pair, that should last you at least a year or two (unless your prescription changes), used to cost between 30-130GBP, depending on trends. Does anyone know about US prices that could compare with my experience of pricing?

I had no Idea the one company owns the majority. That's why the consumer has very little choice (payment-wise) when purchasing glasses.

I'll see what mine end up costing and post back with the price. Something tells me I'm In for a shock.
