I have played Civ 5 for a while and i think and okay at it. It's one of the Civ games i really like, so is Civ 4 was really good. I didn't really like Beyond Earth when i played but that was when it came out and haven't touched it since then so I don't have any idea how it is.

I haven't played Beyond Earth, simply because other people told me not to.

I'd give Beyond Earth a 8/10 as a game, and 2/10 as an addition to the Civilization series. I've played quite a bit of Beyond Earth. As much as it pains me, I still get addicted.

I feel like Beyond Earth does get better the longer you play, that's just what I've heard from people who do play it

I agree with you that it's not a great addition to the Civilization series, I feel like if they said it was a space civilization game then people won't have that expectation of the game to be like Civ 5 and it might have gotten better reviews for the game.
