All it takes is 1 simple small defect on a bullet and it can cause a jam, or a faulty or old worn out clip. Now would you rather continue on assuming it won't happen to you or would you rather have some sort of backup?.

You don't got to be experienced with a knife to have one on you knowing it could potentially save your life.

There's a reason cops carry guns as primary defense and not knives. Just sayin'.

Faulty or worn out MAGAZINE is the operator's fault. A responsible self defense weapon owner will inspect their equipment regularly to ensure no faults. I won't carry ammo that does not properly cycle through my weapon reliably over a large test sample. Malfunctions do happen which is why you practice them and drill them so they become second nature to correct. I have 4 spare 17 round magazines for my one pistol, and an additional 10 round magazine for it. If all else fails I have a second pistol that can act as a BUG.

I'm not discounting the value of a knife at all. A knife is an important tool and skills in using that tool are equally important. I'm simply stating that there are options w/ firearms as well for backup options.

And there is a reason why tactical teams have knives as well as multiple other weapons because they know very well backups are needed. Cops also have backups on them, Tazers, Batons, Pepper Spray, there is 3 backups right off the bat that could save there ass, I have had mags brand new that failed after 100 rounds or so with no warning sign of failure before hand.

Even the Military has had issues with guns jamming, mag failures, etc. Just because it doesn't happen too often don't mean a person shouldn't have other options just in case. Those 10 seconds or so of you unjamming your gun could be the result in your death while you could of taken those 10 seconds to reach for some sort of backup weapon to get a better chance.

Tell me if your gun jammed would you attempt to unjam it or reach for that secondary pistol of yours knowing it is the quickest option when there is an attacker. Because right there having the second pistol it is a backup.

Me being a prepper I try to think of multiple possible scenarios and what to do in them, there is no way you would see me with just 1 option at minimum id have 3 options on me.

You should look into a good bow and buy some carbon express wolverine 6070 arrows for about $3 a piece at walmart they are very good arrows.

I got 2 bows 1 Bear White Tail Hunter set at about 50lbs and a Silverhawk XP at like 35lbs. anything above 25lbs will take a deer down but most states want 35lb+ my state has no limit. I actually plan on buying another bow.

That's a good thing about a bow is in a survival situation in some sort of SHTF scenario its quiet, effective and won't give out the position.

Bows are great, but are limited in terms of distance. My last two game kills were more than 200 yards away. If I had been hunting with a bow, I'd be out of luck. If you're not short on funds, a suppressor might be an option.

A deer can be taken down at 200 yards with a bow, there is even people who shoot up to 250 yards, I'd recommend at least 75lb bows for that though.

as for supressors you need to license them in many states which some people just don't like doing because you do not need a license to own or shoot a rifle.

If I had no choice but to choose between a bullet or an arrow throw my arm assuming the arrow had a broad head, id choose the bullet, now if the arrow had a bullet point then ehh smaller wound that way.

Those damn things do bruise a person up there first couple times shooting. It's pretty hilarious though.
