I wouldn't really use a knife for self defense. If you do, you should be prepared to get cut up as well.

But this is coming from me, a prepper point of view.
I got guns, swords, knives, machetes, bows & arrows, primitive weapon making knowledge, spears, etc. Of course that can't all be used for EDC but you get the point.

You don't got to be experienced with a knife to have one on you knowing it could potentially save your life.
Shit happens and all you can do is try to better prepare for it if it does happen.
