I'm always going to go for Windows because of the practicality, at the end of the day it provides everything I need, and also has a nice UI. When I need more advanced tools I switch over to linux.

Windows all the way, way more practical

It depends what your long-term usage would be. If you're new to Linux, I'd recommend trying Ubuntu using Live Boot via USB and get a feel for the speed and difference. You can also use a virtual machine, but there will be a noticeable speed difference.
