I'm always going to go for Windows because of the practicality, at the end of the day it provides everything I need, and also has a nice UI. When I need more advanced tools I switch over to linux.

It depends what your long-term usage would be. If you're new to Linux, I'd recommend trying Ubuntu using Live Boot via USB and get a feel for the speed and difference. You can also use a virtual machine, but there will be a noticeable speed difference.

linux is great to install for someone so they can't screw it up, no malware either.

For the most part Windows. Linux has its use cases as well.

I prefer Ubuntu for my daily use and windows in virtualbox.
