You have a point, but personally, I don't feel comfortable putting my life In the hands of technology.

The technology would not the mainproblem. This is that the programmer. They can not know every situation, you will meet with your car. An I like driving cars. My oldets ist 41 years old sportscar. No help, no ABS, no sideprotrection...

They both work hand In hand.

Technology relies on the programmer and vice versa. Each one Is susceptible to error/failure.

Back in the university about half a decade ago, we did something about self-driving cars. Somewhat a research, we have concluded both developer and technology would still omit almost the same mistake but can be lessen IF AND ONLY IF the roads where the self-driving car would run is also manufactured by the developers themselves. This is somewhat a topic similar in science about controlled and non-controlled variables (please correct me if I am wrong).

Just like in real world application, something that you make would make more mistakes or would-be prone to errors if you send it to the wild. But if you put that invention somewhere that you can control it and the environment is self-made, there would be less chances of omitting mistakes and errors.

IMHO, we are still far though many scientists, engineers, and developers in the industry are really doing their best to make self-driving cars and similar inventions to make everyone's life easier, lazing us all out and also, for them to make more profit. This is my personal point of view. Smile

I heard about this the other day. I really don't think that having a self-driving car would be a good idea...

I have a friend that bought a Tesla recently, it shows a very good performance.
