iPhone 4 IOS 7 Activation Lock (Help!) - Skullmeat - 09-14-2015 So doing some house cleaning, and in a drawer, I discovered a working iPhone 4. I have factory restored the device, and it is now asking me for a login to iCloud from the previous owner. (It appears to be my older sister's, she has an iPhone 5 now.) I'd rather not have to ask her to deactivate the device as she is stubborn, and will find some excuse for me to not use it. Is there any way to get the device into usable state? And not just the lock screen? RE: iPhone 4 IOS 7 Activation Lock (Help!) - Sapientia - 09-14-2015 There is, but most deactivation methods cost money and are hard to find. Just ask her. Probably cheaper than an iPhone 4. He's asking for a deactivation method for a reason, most likely.

My older sister is the most stubborn, paranoid person I know. I'll ask her, but I'm fairly certain what the answer will be. RE: iPhone 4 IOS 7 Activation Lock (Help!) - Oni - 09-14-2015 I'm just more surprised I didn't find anything with a quick search of Google. Apple products generally have "meh" security. Take a look here. The method actually is not ios 7 specific, you will just need to use an A5 device running ios 7 to get it. and NO, I will not give out the keys. On a side note, I have an acquaintance who has some sort of private tool based on limerain's jailbreak for IOS 4, that he says works with IOS 7. My (basic) understanding is that it somehow allows access the the root filesystem, which he says will allow him to modify a few files to bypass the lock. Unfortunately, the jailbreak portion works, but the phone wont allow us to "login" to it via putty. Limera1n is simply a code injection platform, you need actual system patches to get fs access. Even with that, the lock isn't stored on the phone, it is stored with Apple, even if you got it to unlock, it would just re-lock itself again. Also, everything is AES encrypted, you would need access to the engine (see pwnstrap) to get anything done (you would still need the keys, and good luck) Long story short, just ask your sister..... RE: iPhone 4 IOS 7 Activation Lock (Help!) - Oni - 09-16-2015 Well, at least you got an answer.
