You need to lower the cost of upgrades, You keep saying it is necessary to keep the site running but your charging 70$ and can't even keep the site up.
This site has more down time than every stresser on the fucking planet combined.
No other forum charges this much for upgrades and their sites have like 0% downtime and they are doing just fine.
Why the fuck is there even a need for like 12 different upgrades, 3 tops is good. plus they are ungodly fucking expensive.

I don't think there's any need to complain. Pretty much every single person that can afford a computer and and Internet connection can also find time to make $70 worth of money. Working as little as two days at most places gets you more than that, as does learning a skill and putting it to good use; which is the purpose of any online board out there.
Given, however, the scenario you lack the funds this instant, and cannot pull yourself up and get them; there's no requirement for people to upgrade. You can have a 'free' account and still have a great time on here. Join groups, make properly written posts, and I guarantee you'll get more out of SL than most upgraded members.
Also, there are five levels of upgrade, not twelve...

What no one seems to realize is drop prices, more people buy actually possibly making this place sustainable + secure.
