Microsoft Considered Going Discless For the Xbox One - daimashin - 01-03-2014 Quote:Microsoft has revealed there was discussion about removing the Xbox One's disc drive, making the console digital-only. Source: IGN What do you think about this? I think Microsoft would have committed suicide if they stuck to the plan. RE: Microsoft Considered Going Discless For the Xbox One - Fallen - 01-03-2014 They should've done that so I wouldn't see Microsoft anymore. RE: Microsoft Considered Going Discless For the Xbox One - True2marie - 01-03-2014 Popular quote - "If it ain't broke, don't fix it." In tech companies, change is always constant. In this case though, removing the disc from Xbox Ones would be a mistake. If Microsoft wants to compete more with other companies in their field, they need to come up with another idea. RE: Microsoft Considered Going Discless For the Xbox One - Emerald - 01-03-2014 Personally, I think it would be a terrible decision. They would need servers to host the downloads of the games. On launch days for popular games, the bandwidth would be overloaded, and it would make for a lot of angry customers. RE: Microsoft Considered Going Discless For the Xbox One - Feat - 01-03-2014 It seems liek what they're trying to do is turn the Xbox One into a miniature PC and they're honestly taking a turn for the worst. They should just leave it as is because it's not broken at all. The one reason why I prefer discs is the accessibility it provides. You can't display a digital download on your shelves either, I guess. :pinch: RE: Microsoft Considered Going Discless For the Xbox One - Fallen - 01-03-2014 (01-03-2014, 05:25 AM)Emerald Wrote: You can't display a digital download on your shelves either, I guess. :pinch: You can take a screenshot and print it out. :hehe: RE: Microsoft Considered Going Discless For the Xbox One - daimashin - 01-03-2014 Lucky for them that they realized that it wasn't feasible. They only thought about the games and tv but they forgotten that some people also use a console to watch Blu Ray movies. Besides, not everyone has the kind of internet to be able to download huge amounts of data. RE: Microsoft Considered Going Discless For the Xbox One - Wonder - 01-04-2014 Mine is basically disc-free, i haven't bought a single disc. |
