First PC build - Give me your 2 cents !!!!! Hand it over! - ZherkTG - 03-15-2020 Hey guys, I'm currently getting ready to order all the parts to build my PC. Before doing so I just wanted to post it up on here to get some feedback and maybe any advice before ordering anything. The main purpose for this build is productivity (graphic design, coding, multitasking, video editing, sound editing, podcasting, streaming) However, I would still like it to run great during gaming. At the moment I'm not sure if I should stick with the 1080ti or if I should switch to an RTX 2080. https://pcpartpicker.com/user/Emmonosis/saved/#view=JYG9GX Thanks in Advance for any help you can offer. This is my first build, and I know I can just upgrade parts in the future. But I'd rather take advantage of my budget right now which is about 1k. I just bought the LG 34GL750-B as the monitor. RE: First PC build - Give me your 2 cents !!!!! Hand it over! - mothered - 03-16-2020 Thread moved from The Lounge forum, accordingly to Hardware & Customization. Excellent choice with the 6 core CPU, Inclusive of the RTX 2060 VC. Personally, I'd opt for a minimum of 32 GB of Ram. In terms of the SSD, I assume It's the boot/OS drive? RE: First PC build - Give me your 2 cents !!!!! Hand it over! - Charonone - 06-02-2020 Hi i built this for you for cheaper https://pcpartpicker.com/list/frzmhg. I think it maybe better in every component. RE: First PC build - Give me your 2 cents !!!!! Hand it over! - sybylroot - 06-02-2020 As i see you have a very good setup in here... so keep going on to this, but as @mothered say, why not adding more ram? especially if you're getting into heavy design/rendering work. Here's one of my systems running 16 GB of Ram- simply consumed by 4 weeks of uptime and around 60 browser tabs active. Spoiler:![]() If I were to run a couple of VMs simultaneously, I'd run out of memory. RE: First PC build - Give me your 2 cents !!!!! Hand it over! - Skullmeat - 06-16-2020 It looks good to me. The only things I can point out are for a 2060 you might get a better AMD GPU for that price, if you have no loyalty. Also, depending on what you are using it for you could get a smaller SSD. I'm going to assume you want windows and some programs on it, that's a good size. I personally use a 500GB SSD for the important things and a 2TB spinning disk for storage. I also have a NAS for a hot backup. RE: First PC build - Give me your 2 cents !!!!! Hand it over! - man_neka - 07-17-2020 i dont know if you have finish the system or not, if not then for the main drive i would strongly recommend SSD drive along with more RAM, lastly if you like you can upgrade the cooling system it helps alot.
