Not exactly sure, it wasn't my PC but my friends. It was definitely something like Project M, but Project M has since shutdown and I don't think they are receiving updates anymore RE: Competitive Super Smash Bros - zenith - 06-14-2016 (06-14-2016, 07:30 PM)insidious15 Wrote:(06-14-2016, 07:06 PM)Zenith Wrote:(06-14-2016, 07:04 PM)insidious15 Wrote: Brawl, although in College we play a modded version off of the PC with X-Box controllers, to get more character choices Well it did shut down yes. But you can still download it I actually downloaded it like a week ago and it worked perfect. So it still works my dude RE: Competitive Super Smash Bros - Oni - 06-14-2016 (06-14-2016, 06:01 PM)BurritoBeans Wrote: Have I ever played Smash competitively? Nope, I suck too much, level 8 or 9 AI is the best I can do and then real people whoop me every game (Just like Quake 3, UT, Counter Strike, etc. lol). I do know there's a pretty large Smash following around here, we had eight people who would play it on their 3DS to/from school, and every gaming convention that isn't tabletop related will have a tournament for either the latest one, Brawl w/Project M loaded in, or Melee, and you see lots of people with it on their 3DS. You're suggesting it could be less of a tournament fighter because of:
I'd say those characteristics make it unique or more interesting for multiplayer. Alright, so I will say that stuff does make it neat for multiplayer, but I think some stuff I didn't get across right. More than 2 slots - Yeah that's cool for co-op with friends, I love being able to have everyone around instead of being limited to the two sticks on the control panel for the arcade machine, or usual two controllers. The reason I say it's not good for a tournament fighter is well, if you watch some of that pro-level Smash stuff, it's 1 v 1 all the time. Launching to Kill - This is just why it's a non-standard fighter, it's a different way of a KO Weapons being thrown around - Yep, that's good for multiplayer stuff, but again with tournaments - When did a serious Smash tournament run items? Weapons for characters - This is perfectly fine, and multiple fighters played in tournaments have it. Soul Calibur, Last Blade, Samuari Showdown, BlazBlue, and some of the Mortal Kombat games have these, and they don't really make a difference so it's fine. So really, you're right - this stuff does make it more interesting for multiplayer. The only reasons I don't consider it as much of a tournament fighter with the weapons being added in early and 2+ players per match is that well, when was the last time a serious smash tournament had items on and they ran 3+ players in a match? I've just never seen it, that's all. RE: Competitive Super Smash Bros - Wildfire - 06-15-2016 My own cousin actually plays Smash competitively, I thought it was alot less common, who knew. Personally, I suck at smash bros and the last one I played was the one for GameCube (Melee, I believe?) Alot of things have changed apparently. |
