That's the most retarded thing I've ever heard. Without social skills, how would you properly interact and communicate with people you meet? No matter what degree you get, if you can't communicate to someone like your employer, good luck getting a job.

You should be learning communication skills from your parents/caregivers. Basic human skills won't get you anywhere. I don't think every job requires minimal interaction.

My point is obviously going right over your head. I'm not going to argue with you anymore.

Your parents can't communicate with you in a business sense.
They can't like your friends can.
They can't teach you the fine nuances of social setting that can only be learned through experience that school gives you.

Otherwise, they'd have to separate themselves from the parental role.
And I can tell you from working even simple jobs. Fast food, retail, manufacturing, construction, customer service, quality control, all settings have required communication. If I hadn't learned all what I did, I would not be in my current position. And my parents didn't bother with teaching me anything. At any point.

"Your parents/caregiver should be teaching you".

What happens when they won't, like mine didn't?
That's why it's important.
Otherwise you fill the workforce with useless individuals who can't understand jack shit.
Even being self-employed, which I've done, requires communication.

It is one of the very basic and foremost features that make or break a business.

School should be required to some degree. If we got rid of school then yes the world would be screwed. However, not meaning to school anyone here (xD) but college isn't at all required, nor needed. It really depends on your intended career. I want to either go into game design, IT, or laboratory work. Two of those will definitely require school and college. However game design is a matter of skill, as are a lot of jobs.

Forgive me for my awful/horrid example. Take spongebob. He probably never went to college. But if you look at his house, everything looks nice. Out dated, but nice. He is a head fry cook at the #1 FF restaurant in town, and probably makes a pretty good salary. He needed no school and is pretty well off.

Anyhow, school should be required, but it should not be so stressed that if you do not continue after high school you will be a failure in life. Its simply not the case

It should be required. End of story. What the teach, should be the subject in question. I don't think that the current education model teaches the student enough to have a good life, but I do think the system should be in place.

Maybe have a select-a-class type thing like in college to let the students pick what they learn.

Personally, I would say that the education system needs a lot of modification. However, in this day and age, a decent diploma (and possibly degree) are necessary to do well. Really, you can't expect someone much younger than 18 to make the right decision.

I believe you should be able to do what you want in this world as long as you aren't breaking any rules. Sadly, the counter argument to that statement is; "Well, we'd have a lot of stupid people". School causes a lot of problems that could easily be avoided simply but not having schools in general or rather a "home school" type of system. You take your core classes and then you're done for the day. I am honestly not even sure if I believe school should be required because there are two arguments are both sides are actually really good arguments.

What do you think? Should school be required for kids?

In Finland 1.-9. grades are mandatory. After that you may drop out if you want to. Some people choose to, mostly from the rural areas, or those that want to work in a family owned business, and devote time to that. 10.-12. grades are therefore voluntary, and you have a few choices - mainly Lukio (high-school in a more traditional sense) and Amis (Ammattikoulu, literally profession school - they train you for a certain profession, be it mechanic, bartender or whatever)
I personally think that this is quite a good system, even though I honestly do not like the way that the "national" system is taught (you see, I study in the IB)

You did not just use a fictional cartoon character to try and prove your point...
