RE: Jailbreaking is dying - xakep - 11-28-2017 LOL I remember jailbreaking my first iPhone 1.0. It was done by simply entering numbers into emergency call... On the public releases, it was done by loading a custom IMG2 over usb into recovery space, and then sending a diags commend to jump to it. Rather than waiting for someone else to do it, why don't you get involved and try and make one yourself? I'm happy to provide some of my ios 10 and 11 material for you to look over. I wouldn't be opposed to it, but honestly my phone is so shot now there's no point. It just randomly dies regardless of the battery percentage, spazzes out when using apps, etc. I'm in the market for a new phone, figured I'd go android and stop worrying about it. RE: Jailbreaking is dying - reggs99 - 12-14-2023 If anyone knows of a way to jailbreak the latest iOS or downgrade to a lower iOS, let me know. Want to run some apps on it RE: Jailbreaking is dying - emapol - 12-19-2023 jailbreak was great but useless in 2023 RE: Jailbreaking is dying - Oni - 12-19-2023 (12-05-2023, 09:24 PM)roubet Wrote: with ios's recent upgrades i can't find a legit reason to jailbreak my iphone.. I agree. When I jailbroke the iPhone 2/3, I remember the biggest things were the ability to install Cydia and use custom wallpapers. It used to just be a black background. With all the customization available and the Cydia store shut down, I doubt there's as much of a need. phyrrus9 (OP) has been dead 2 years as well. I'm not even sure Android warrants rooting anymore. With the exception of modification/development, Android is super customizable compared to 10 years ago. Custom ROMs are definitely popular, but I'm not sure root-level privileges are necessary outside of specific use cases. |
