I think the hard drive failed. So in the end I only lost the mobo, CPU, and PSU. My hard-drive died as well, but I had 1TB SSD handy. Unfortunately, it's likely I lost all of my data. The warranty information page on their website should have been enough to not buy from them. They had really great reviews at the time, although I doubt I'll buy cases from any Asians in the future.
RE: Power Surge/Faulty Power Supply - The Professor - 09-22-2019 Sometimes protectors aren't enough. Sounds like it tripped something rather than blew something. RE: Power Surge/Faulty Power Supply - Oni - 09-22-2019 This happened quite a while back. Still missing some data from back then. The problem was that the case came with a faulty watercooling unit and liquid dripped into the PSU. Never used watercooling since. Even in that situation, usually when a power supply goes it will sizzle and then just shut off. They are designed w/ kill switched once a certain voltage/heat is met. Sounds like your surge bar blew being that this would be the weakest point in the loop. But if it still doesn't work its probably fried, happens to the best of us. My PSU came with a faulty fan so the fan never works. I just have solid air flow so its good anyway. Moral of the story, its very hard to blow a PSU because they are designed around failures. |
