Power Surge/Faulty Power Supply 01-17-2017, 06:05 AM

My main machine is currently out of commission. There were tornado/storm warnings early this morning and midway through the day @"Boudica" and I heard a loud pop. Have a decent surge protector for situations like this, but apparently it didn't do much. It's likely the power supply blew out, or is faulty. It's also possible my other hardware was compromised. Ordered a new power supply and will begin troubleshooting tomorrow.
Anyone else had similar happen? Power surges are the worst.

I wouldn't recommend Deepcool or Gamer Storm's cases to anyone, despite how pretty they might be. @"Skullmeat" was also skeptical of them. It's possible the CPU/Mobo are salvageable, but I wouldn't trust them in the future. I ordered a Noctis 450 case, IX Formula mobo, and 7700k. I should get the parts today.
