Maybe send the video around to people you know and see if they recognize the face. Another option would be to involve the police. I'm not sure if there is much you are able to do but I hope your roommate ends up getting to recover his/her bike

Whilst that's a good option and I certainly agree, the police don't really care about mediocre thefts of this nature. If It's one of their own (a police coworker or friend), they'd take a few extra steps In catching the thief. I can't speak for all police In all localities, but In my country, they simply turn a blind eye.
