My Roommate's Bike Got Stolen and There Was Video Evidence 10-28-2016, 06:35 AM

Outside of our apartments, we actually have cameras that point directly at the bike lock. His bike was worth $1800 USD and a thief came by around 11:30 PM (my time) or 23:30 hours and stole his bike.
The thief worked solo.
He scouted the place out for 10 minutes or so. During this time he had a lit cigarette and talking (assumed) on the phone to blend in the environment.
Then he got a spare wheel and put it next to my roommate's bike.
My roommate's bike has (quick release) which means you can literally detach the bike with a lever from the frame in about 10 seconds or less.
The thief put his own spare tire and rode off.
THEN! He must have knew how much the wheel was worth ($180), he came back and tried to steal that too.
We have all the camera surveillance, but zooming in on the suspect's face blurs it too violently to even tell who he was. I would upload the video, but it seems like it needs a specific program to see the video.
