I'll keep it in mind regardless for a more technical environment where explicitly stated terms are more important.

I mentioned it for purposes of clarification because it is important to be unambiguous when talking about these sorts of political agendas.

I won't disagree but I will defend myself in that I originally had posted this in Random Discussion without any intent of getting into deeper arguments. But who was I kidding, I couldn't help myself.

To me, it depends on what the situation is. For example if you were just having casual sex, or unprotected sex then im slightly against it because you should be thinking of consequences and such, however lets say if the situation was rape etc, then i would think that abortion can be acceptable in some cases. Like for example if a 14 year old was made pregnant against her will, and having the baby can lead to the loss of the 14 year olds life, then i would think abortion is acceptable in those cases. But in most other cases, you should just put it up for adoption etc.

I voted Pro-Life, because I was adopted. I was given up at birth. I often forget I'm adopted because I'm the same ethnicity as my adoptive parents, and they love me as parents should love their child. I don't *feel* any different to anybody else. I'm just like all of you, but I'm luckier. I could've been aborted. However, my adoptive parents provide me with a life my birth parents would not have been able to provide me with, and I am glad to be alive. I'm happy I wasn't aborted, because now I am here talking with you. I don't have anything against any of you who voted pro-choice, your opinion is your opinion, but those of you who voted that and are reading this now, you wouldn't be reading this if there weren't the beautiful people on this planet who had the strength to disagree with you.

Pro-choice isn't pro-abortion. I don't agree with your sentiment that have you not been put up for adoption, you're other option was being aborted. I referred to this scenario earlier in the thread.
"But adoption is an alternative to raising your child rather than the alternative of having a baby. The alternative of having a baby is not having a baby and I think women should ultimately be able to decide if they want to make the commitment of having a child."

I also am not sure why it requires strength to disagree with adoption? It's not like people like me are some repressive wrongdoers who destroy pro-lifers. It's just a difference in opinions.

My apologies, but I didn't mean it requires strength to *DIS*AGREE with adoption. I was saying it requires strength to put a child UP for adoption. Especially after you've given birth to it. But if you're not able to take care of it, and you have the ability to give it a better life, it's hard, but it's the right thing to do. And I'm sorry if I didn't make it clear, I believe in pro-life for biased reasons. In all honestly, if I wasn't adopted, and didn't know what is was like first hand, my belief set would have me more inclined to be pro-choice, so I don't blame anybody who is pro-choice or believe they're wrong or evil. You're absolutely right, it is just a difference of opinions.

Good point, but If you're not able to take care of It, you shouldn't have given birth to It to begin with.

This Is not directed at you, but more so a general statement. A lot of mothers are well and truly aware of their responsibility to their child (with consensual Intercourse), yet once the child Is born, they're full of "excuses" as to why they can't fulfill the role of motherhood.
