Pro-Life or Pro-Choice #1
Just curious because it came up recently on here between a couple of members.

Murder is illegal.

You too were once a baby... a living, breathing human being with intelligence.

I personally believe if you don't want it then you should simply give it up for adoption instead of getting an abortion. Who knows? Maybe that baby you're killing could end up being a very important person in the future. Aside from the obvious burst of optimism, I just think it's pointless to kill it.

I really want to see who voted for what.
Especially the other person who voted Pro-Life. Smile

True.
Even if the baby didn't become an important person, nothing can justify killing it.

The other person is me. Anyways, I think it's stupid to kill it so we're on very similar wavelengths. I'd really like to see someone argue that killing it is far more effective than giving it up for adoption. I guess to be a devil's advocate, I can see overpopulation being an extreme reason..

On the other side, that person could be the next Hitler. But anyway, adoption isn't an easy option either. In fact, orphanages have become increasingly overcrowed and under-funded and many kids are left wandering the streets after they hit the legal age. I think until we can give a comfortable and learning atmosphere to these kids, that simply opting for adoption in every abortion debate shows a lack of understanding of what the adoption process consists of and it's current state.

You may think it's pointless to kill it, but for the family/couple making the financial and mentally tough decision to do it, has it's reasons. Maybe you'll never accept those reasons, who knows.

Funnily, I left it as anonymous because I was thinking about the rep you left on someone on their opinion of abortion and I didn't want people getting judged/negged for their opinion if they didn't want to showcase it. Not to call you out. I'm not here to tell people how they can use their rep, but I didn't think it was necessary for discussion to have it displayed. Smile

Very true. I hate to be that guy who points to fallacies but I don't believe every family has much mental deciding behind it. Sometimes it can be simply a 1 night stand gone wrong or a rape victim. I guess that's begging for a different topic and I don't want to be that guy either.

If orphanages are becoming overcrowded then I believe that our government needs to see this and adapt to said problems. Another solution could be promoting safe sex at a higher degree. I don't know.. it is a high amount of ignorance coming from me but I cannot accept killing a baby as a needed scenario.

Precisely this.

I've never supported a "conscious" and Informed decision for a woman to have an abortion. She can make the decision, the unborn child cannot. I realize the baby Is still In development, but In my views, It doesn't justify killing what WILL be another addition to the world's population.

So my choice Is obvious.

I believe any two mature people will struggle with abortion regardless of their views on it. I don't think it's an easy task due to social stigma and inevitably pondering over the what-ifs of having a child.

As for "our government", you'd need to specify your government. Orphanages aren't universal and the U.S. has mostly switched to a different system. But orphanages are still existing around the world. In the U.S., there are laws set up to provide funding for foster homes but that doesn't mean the foster system is an entirely superior alternative to orphanages.

I believe education systems and parents should do a better job of promoting safe sex rather than unrealistic abstinence. Have options of birth control understood and readily available. But adoption is an alternative to raising your child rather than the alternative of having a baby. The alternative of having a baby is not having a baby and I think women should ultimately be able to decide if they want to make the commitment of having a child.

I see your position. But I could still argue the good done by brilliant scientists outweighs the bad done by Hitler. I do not believe this type of argument is just though, because no matter what, a human should not be murdered.

I would never negatively rep a person for being "Pro-Choice", but I will stand up and punish someone for having a wicked, twisted, disgusting "humor":
