And please don't put words in my mouth because I never classified anything.

And you know what my response is still final. A person should not be forced to do something they do not want to do and the end result being if they do not go to school they go to juvenile hall or some detention center.

This is supposed to be a free country and I will not be told how to eat, shit piss or sleep, I will not be told how to live my life I will live it the way I want.

"A person"

A child is not a 'reasonably competent person', though. They are a child and physically, quite literally in the atoms, not matured enough to make competent decisions for themselves.

Hell if children could do what they wanted then there's be pink cats in my neighbourhood and fences made of LEGO.

So I guess if a murderer murders someone but doesn't want to go to prison it's okay because they don't want to, right?

Under 16 no they should not have the option to choose. But 16+ is the age of consent in most states for multiple things.

So 16 I think is a fair age.

Its just my opinion just like everybody else has there opinion on this topic.

What does a murderer have to do with school.

And to add my opinion on the murder subject even though its a completely different topic. Murders loose all of there rights.

And anyway there is probably hundreds of murderers out there that are not in prison because they chose to run or leave absolutely zero evidence that could trace back to them.

So if you think of it they do have the option to choose weather or not to go to prison.

And personally I believe blood for blood. Murderers do not deserve to live but they do not deserve a quick death either.

Opinions are opinions you have yours, I have mine. Weather they are the same or not does not matter.

Make up your mind with your statements, you totally dodged my question.

According to your logic, a person shouldn't be forced to do something they don't want to do. So if a murderer doesn't want to go to prison for the crime he has committed, he shouldn't be forced to, yes or no?

I see this as being reasonable. School leaving age in the UK was 16 until about a year ago, where now education is compulsory until 18.

I thought you meant that children of all ages could just give up on school.

Moved to Serious Discussion, since it is a debatable topic, and answers haven't been low quality.

No obviously a 5 year will not be able to make such a decision and cannot go against there parents orders. But a 16 year old could care less about parents decisions and it is the age of consent so I think at that age they should be able choose.

There is a big juvenile population of teens ages 16 to even 17 just from skipping school. Locking them up because there choice of not wanting to go to school is insane.

16 is old enough to no right from wrong and its old enough to take responsibility for there actions. If there action is to leave school they know how there life could end up in the long run.

I should of made it clear on my first post about the age, my mistake.

Welcome to Reality, a place where you can not get everything you want and where the government doesn't allow the people to shit themselves over, ruining the country in the process.

Sixteen seems a reasonable age, and until recently, sixteen was the school leaving age in the UK, just after GCSEs. (It has since been increased to eighteen.)

However, unless you're rich or you've already got an amazing career plan, a few extra years of education never hurt anyone.

Well some career's don't need schooling. The way of life I have chosen don't need schooling. I got income its just the matter of me getting everything together and my life will be self-sufficient.

There is a factory about 25 miles away from me. They hire anybody pretty much and they pay $20 an hour just for working an assembly line for fuel pumps.

There is jobs out there for people without a education, the problem is these people look for simpler jobs like office jobs, etc.

And lets face it even people with educations and even after college struggle to find jobs and only a few actually get the career they wanted.

An education does not always mean you will be successful in life.
