This is a pretty unique suggestion! While I'm not a fan of desktop notifications myself (In fact I'm currently wanting to rage at any application that does that right now) - I still think a lot of people could make use of this. I do think it needs to be an "opt in" sort of thing, as opposed to default. However, it seems like that's already possible.

I'm In support of this, particularly those who receive notifications on a consistent basis.
