I would suggest "Dan Detective School Q" for old anime it's very interesting and is about Detectives solving Crime.
For latest anime I would suggest Black Clover as it is fast paced and great story line.
One Piece is a must watch anime if you have time.
It's going strong even after crossing 950+ episodes its a great adventure in itself.

Dan Detective School Q is a short detective anime, very interesting to watch.
Try to watch Law of Ueki also a great anime, original story line. Amazing concept and battles.

Try to Watch Mobile Suit Gundam, its one of the most original anime. Which started the Love of Robots in Japan. Good Story line , very engaging to watch.
FLower of Escaflowne is also a great anime, very interesting and good to watch.
If you want to go for short watch would suggest Accel World, nice anime.

If you have much time then watch Cowboy Bebop or Full Metal Alchemist:Brotherhood. You may become addicts of these animes

I always recommend People to watch Mobile Suit Gundam, it just opens up the infinity possibility in anime. Such as great vision even in those early days of anime. And Black Clover from latest anime, great animation, awesome fight scenes. Especially the fight scene between Asta, Dante with Yami was off the charts.
