It's unfair for legit members to have their rep brought down by scammers that don't like the big guys calling them out for scamming

Something should be done about it...

An old thread, but I wanted to clarify that this is already the case. You're not allowed to leave reputation calling someone a scammer, unless you have a scam report open. It's considered abuse of the reputation system and you can report it. If a person chooses to write something else to evade this, that's up to them.
