For me, religion was discovered to be a control system. Internally, thru deep meditation, I have discovered the source. And there is not anything special about me, that I have something and all of you don't. I have left this place, only to arrive to many others. In perspective, the different religions do teach the same lesson. All of them are describing the same elephant as blind men, one in the front, the rear, the sides... The lessons are meant to show you how to go inside yourself, how to materialize an external heaven thru acts of love and kindness, thru appreciation and trust, positivity. Law of attraction applies. We tend to get what we give.
I am not against religion its just that they are all right, teaching the same lesson. When one can let go of structure, they will see themselves leaving the box of structure and float in a fluid, dynamic, thought manifested reality. What attacts more than thoughts is the feeling, and being the thought triggers the feeling, the source is within. Use your imagination, and visit your GOD... Feel the matrix, the everything. As jesus said, the kingdom of heaven is all around but man does not see it.
I practice an ancient shamanistic system, and that is where I discovered my truth. Which was inside my heart. I had help, I wasnt sitting on a mtn top for three years meditating... but I am working to that now. I think when people see the connections being made, it starts to exponentiate, the awakening. Or the quickening as the Mayans called it. Consciouness rises, when you seek it. Quantum Mechanics applies. Best thing about it.

in General, I am an atheist, but I adhere to the psychology of Buddhism, as for me it is the most justified.

It is mythical of course but there are uses for it from a utilitarian perspective. The masses of idiots have to be kept in line and religion has proven to be the most time-tested efficient method for keeping society together. No alternative has succeeded as of yet.

If we do some research on evolution of religion, it will all reveal one thing that it is man made. Man has created religions in the name of different Gods and now they are all fighting over each other in the name of religion. I don't understand ....what do they want to prove.....that a particular religion is only great ?? Life is so short. If we can be of any use to our fellow beings then our life's purpose is achieved.

Religion should be a way of life where we adhere to the good teachings and not manipulate and interpret the great texts in each religion to our convenience. No religion preaches negative emotion of hatred toward fellow human beings.

Religion has, and always will be a means for people to understand the world they live in. It might be a means of finding purpose, guidance, strength or direction. Whether or not religion is "truth" or not, isn't for me to say. One man's proof is another man's heresy.
I think the concept of religion is often blamed for all that is wrong with the world, or at the very least, wars. However, people frequently forget that religion is a product of people. People make wars.
