Yes it should be entirely possible. You need to install windows on the drive in question and point GRUB to the location of the bootable partition for that windows disk.

HD0,0
HD0,1
HD0,2

Stuff like that. HD0,0 would be first disk, first partition, HD0,1 would be first disk, second partition, etc.

HD1,0 would be second disk, first partition.

You can install windows on a particular disk then boot into your linux distro of choice and run "Sudo update-grub" (or grub-update, I can't remember the exact command) and then it will do all the hard work for you.

I had to do this when I had to install W7 and Linux by removing the hard drive each time and then using the DVD drive to install the OS and then I replaced the DVD drive with the second hard drive.

I can if you can give me more detail into what exactly you're trying to do.

If you're trying to install windows on a separate hard disk, you need to install windows to that hard disk, then make GRUB2 aware of that install.

Give me more details and i'll see what I can do.

I want to install a second os without using any external media (usb,cd,dvd).i read somewhere that is possible by using grub!!.i think you both understood wrong and thats my fault ...anyway do you know if its possible and if yes how ??
