Here is my thoughts and opinions on this.

There is too many upgrade spots I believe 3 should be the max and all users who are Platinum/Diamond should be moved to a special group since they already paid the money of which in the future members should be approved first before joining and paying an entry fee. There should be strict requirements to join this special group. Also prices should be more simplistic and fair.

Requirements for this special group can be simple but strict:
Must be a member for 1 full year.
Must have X amount of posts.
Must be a positive member.
No severe warnings.
Administrator approval
etc
Entry Fee ($25)
.

The three available groups should be renamed
Prime ($50) (Must buy) [gold members moved here]
Extreme ($30) (250 NSP) [silver members moved here]
SL Plus ($10) (150 NSP) [bronze members moved here]

If people want to contribute then they can donate, I believe a donate page should be available. Maybe @Oni will understand where i'm coming from with this, close the board for a couple hours and it should be a pretty simple process and in the end be worth it. Another thing to understand is if things are more simplistic and prices are more fair then more people will buy it rather then less so if you think of it there really is no money loss it might actually become a money gain for the community and server costs.

It needs to stay fair for the current Diamond and Platinum members they most likely paid so if they are moved to this special group and then entry becomes free it kind ruins the point and is wrong towards them.

That is why I think SL plus (AKA Bronze) and Extreme (AKA Silver) should be the ones available for free with nsp or to buy and Prime (AKA Gold) should be required to buy and not available with NSP

So Prime (Gold) and the special group require a fee and will not be buyable with NSP.

It's a change and some people may be upset with it IF Oni does do it but it really would be for the better of the community.

(You being already platinum (after looking in ur PF) would automatically be moved to the special group free of charge as it will be considered a replacement upgrade)

You can spit the costing between virtual currency (NSP), and real dollars.

If you structure It smartly, It'll be a significant saving In physical currency.

An upgrade is an upgrade it is for benefits and to receive the "perks" hence why its called an upgrade.

Donating is a completely different thing that means you are giving the money to Oni for the community for absolutely nothing in return to you.

Upgrades/Donations are different and should not be labeled the same.
