I am thinking about getting my nephew an iPhone SE for his 12th bd. I had a phone at that age, so I'm not too conflicted with allowing him to get what he wants. It comes up to nearly $200 cad, which isn't too bad. My first phone was maybe like 49.99 lol, but it should let him have a decent cheap phone? I'm not an Apple user myself, so I can't vouch on it. Reviews seemed okay. He has an iPad, so I figured I might as well make it easier to get used to in his part. Decent choice?

I would go for an iPhone 6. They cost roughly the same and 6 is way better and bigger screen.

That aside, I've only owned an Android device, so I can't speak from firsthand experience. Quite a few work friends own IPhones, and I've yet to hear negative feedback.

I got my first phone about the same age. It was an old flip phone, during the days of the RAZR. Don't see a problem with this at all, as long as they spend time doing other things, too.

My first phone was the SE, and I can tell you it is the exact same components of a 6, in the shell of a 5.

I liked it because the 5 always had a nice feel in the hands.

Thank you for your inputs everyone! I have gone ahead with it and also gotten a case which came up to roughly 200cad which isn't too bad.
