Never cracked a wifi password before but the old method that I know of is brute force pw list with Aircrack-ng

Depends on Encryption used. WEP will be easy, WPA2, will take WAY longer(years and years)

In a linux distribuition and with aricrack-ng installed follow this steps:

1 - Type in shell: airmon-ng start (your wlan interface)

2 - Look with command ifconfig if a virtual monitor interface has been configured

3 - Type in shell: airodumon (your mon interface), and let us know what type of encryptation in your wireless network to we help you

reaver works good if you want to crack wpa/wpa2

If its through Verizon, and they haven't updated their code, usually the passkey is based on the router name. They have programs to crack these specific keys.

It all depends. If it's WEP it will take a matter of second. If there is WPS enabled it will drastically reduce the time to crack WPA/WPA2
