So recently I've been getting DDoSed (yes I'm sure of this) and I was wondering if anyone had any advice for my situation since I really don't know what to do.
My IP got leaked in a database leak and it hasn't changed in months. I've called my ISP and they said they couldn't change my IP, they said unplugging my router for 20 minutes and replugging it could maybe change my IP, I tried this but it didn't work. I unplugged it for 24 hours too but that also didn't work. They told me the only way of changing my IP was getting a new modem, I don't want to spend money on this.
Does anyone have advice for me?

Have you tried releasing/renewing your IP (via router)? If so, you might have a static IP, and you'll want to call them again.

I only have a modem with like a built-in router (I believe this is how to explain it), so I can't release/renew it.
And I tried calling them again, they said they couldn't change my IP, they said I DON'T have a static IP though.
I told them I was getting DDoSed and they told me they didn't know what it meant so don't expect a lot of support from them.

You could use a tool like Wireshark to analyze and find the attacking IP addresses, then blacklist them on your router's firewall (yes, it has to be your router's firewall). Changing your IP address could resolve the issue temporarily, but it is possible for the attacker to still query your new address.

I do not know what kind of method is being used towards this DDoS attack on you, and it could potentially be some kind of exploit that your firewall is unable to stop. You should persuade your incompetent ISP to send a tech guy over and try to help you with the problem.

He won't be able to get my new IP adress if I get a new one (unless another database is breached) so it would be a great fix, sadly my ISP refuses to give me a new IP adress.

Not a problem! It can possibly take hours to find the attacking IP addresses with Wireshark, especially if you're new to using it. If you cannot fix your problem using this method, then I highly recommend bringing a tech guy to your house.

Maybe you could just complain to your ISP about your Internet not working, and then see what happens.

You could get a modem and or router cheaply by going to your local goodwill. They always almost have at least one. Way cheaper than buying a new router/ modem.

It doesn't work like that here, I can't just go buy a random modem and hook it up, there's only 1 ISP in my country and they have the entire internet market monopolised.
Also we don't have goodwill.
