My favorite one (but mainly because it's the only one I've used more than anything else) would be BackTrack because it has the hacking essentials, but if you're asking in a non-hacking sense, then Ubuntu.

My current favourite is Mint. Yeah, I know. I've always got on with it and I just generally love it. I've also tried Ubuntu and Fedora. Mint is the only one that I managed to keep using, I used it for a good 7 months. I'm currently running Fedora, and although I do like it, it's just not good enough for me. The sound doesn't work too good and neither do skype calls.

Probably Debian or CentOS now. A few months ago, I'd probably have said Arch. Tongue

Are you sure that's not just because you have jets taking off in your yard?

Recently I've been getting into the new Backtrack, or Kali. It is so much more user friendly.

Kali is alright, but it's basically Debian.

Well there's nothing wrong with Debian, and it has all the pen-testing essentials. Leaves you with no need for any other distro.
