I have not heard the word comprehensive used to describe a specific style of word list. We just call it a dictionary file.

None the less this is a cool share, thx for the contribution, I like it.

I understand with your Interpretation pertaining to the password.

In regards to a comprehensive wordlist, to clarify things, I've just performed a quick Google search and the following result came up:

Quote:Description: A comprehensive word list which should contain most common American words, abbreviations, hyphenations, and even incorrect spellings. The word lists were compiled from a number of sources: commercial news services, UseNet news postings, existing dictionaries, name lists, company lists, UNIX man pages, project Gutenberg's E-texts, project Wordnet, received mailings, etc.

And you're most welcome with the contribution.

Thx for that description too, that helps a lot.

I've actually been wanting to build a custom word list for work for quite a while and haven't gotten around to it.

Agreed.

It's also worth noting that most password list gen's I have worked with allow you to toggle on/off the specific "ascii families" (such as upper/lower/numbers/special chars) and will generate every possible password for however you configure it. Which is more or less why I was confused over your use of comprehensive... As I was having a difficult time coming up with something "more comprehensive".

With that said..... Most password bruteforcing tools offer similar comprehensive functionality, and unless your password list contains a higher quality wordlist... you will most likely get similar results.

Now if you excuse me... I'm going to go eat a comprehensive lunch (lunch + fork). Biggrin

So you're going to eat the "fork" as well? Not a good Idea. Lol.

Your Interpretation Is misleading. Here's something to help you understand how "comprehensive", also relates to lunch.

We're getting way off topic here, so I'm glad I've clarified the term "comprehensive" to all those who've used It In different facets, thus this has now been finalized.
