Because my mind is of my own and my my thoughts are of my own conjuration.
I believe things happen for a reason, may they have explanations or not.
I can also pose the question; Why do you choose to not believe in something even though you have no proof of it's non-existance?
Just like every debate, unless solid proof is provided for each side, every person will stick to his / her opinion and views. :o
To answer your question, I personally don't believe in anything due to me having to follow imaginary "rules/morals" given to me by a non-existant being.
If my time comes and I actually meet this creature, I'll repent against my sins as he's essentially a "forgiver."
He was also created by people just as every other "dead" religion or "living" one, so there is bound to be mistakes.
