The wii is a thing for children. I'm all for my Xbox Kinect.

Because all the worthwile games were aimed to very niche audiences, as well as hving very little support from AAA developers, I had fun with it, very good japanese games on it (Muramasa: The demon blade, Zack and Wiki, etc) and some other games by minor studios; bit of fresh air from the yearly CoD and lackluster RPGs that came out on the 360 and PS3 (although the PS3 had some DAMN GOOD japanese exclusives)

It was kind of popular for a while, until people got bored of it.
I feel the reason is because it was unique for only a short period of time, when people started to realise that the motion controlling stuff was unique but anoying to use.
Also the games that were developed for the Wii weren't as fun to play with their controller.

Its just like any system, you make a limited amount of the system and sell out. Then you get the hype EVERYWHERE that no one can keep your product on the shelves, then the system sells more. Until 1-2 years later when consumers realize that 90% of the titles released on the platform are shovel-ware.
Marketing 101 make your shit popular to hide the fact that you cant do anything with it.
The only thing to fear is fear itself... that and evil monkeys. I mean seriously, their just devious.
