I prefer Linux Mint also Ubuntu both of them are very good But after 13.10 update ubuntu had lots of bugs so I switched to Linux Mint for a short period of time also have tried Lubuntu ( MOST OF THE FASTEST LINUX DISTROS I EVER SEEN , Zorin OS 7 ( VERY GOOD FOR LINUX BEGINNERS ALL THE INTERFACE AND SO ON ARE SIMILAR TO WINDOWS , Elementary OS ( VERY SIMILAR TO MAC OS) , Kali Linux (Which is the newest version of BackTrack. I have tried lots of different Distros but thats the main ones that stuck in my mind.

The distrobution always change between what you want to do with your machine.
That's the thing with Linux, you'll always have know what you want to do before you start doing it.
But, Ubuntu 9 I think is the best one. I've never really liked KDE because It's to graphical and It's hard to use if you're used with Gnome.

So,

Ubuntu 9 and Windows 7.

I've always prefered distros with a minimalistic enviroment, simple and clean! Currently debian is my favorite, because of its stability. But I'm going to give arch linux & linux from scracth a try later on

I'm currently using Crunchbang and to be honest,it's quite great.
It's fast,easily configurable and pretty stable.
I would recommend it to anyone who likes messing with linux and can afford spending few hours playing with their distro.

Ubuntu 12.04+ and elementaryOS. They aren't light, but have a nice interface.

I used BT5R3 but now I am using Kali and on my mini laptop I have Mint running (and I dig it).
I also use CentOS (Server) at work!

Ages ago I used Ubuntu (since it's first release), and I didn't like it much.
I tested PCLinuxOS, Archlinux, a ... puppy? and ... of course Debian, and my choice is the ones I am using now!
