I ought to get a little more familiar with the internals. My comment was only relative to peripherals. I've had really good experiences with nvidia gfx cards so far (all second hand as well) and had horrendous experiences with AMD cards. Again, my experience is limited.

I know this is a bit of a bump. Anyways, I consider Kingston to have great SSDs but not as good as the Samsung EVOS/Pro or not as bad as Sandisk SSDs

They are a little more expensive than their counterparts, but nothing significant.

For peace of mind, It's well worth paying a few extra dollars, namely because Kingston has a lifetime warranty on Ram, Flash memory cards, SD cards and a few others.

I think lifetime warranty may have sold me. As long as I have the funds I'd rather pay the extra few bucks. It'll save me in the long run, compared to to buying a new part every year or two. If only I'd had that attitude before thinking 500GB on this laptop would be "enough" xD I should have saved for 1-2TB.

In terms of your HDD, 500GB Is not much nowadays. I always allow for expansion- files only get bigger as the years go by, hence the capacity to accommodate them also Increases.

I'd never filled out 500GB on a HDD before (or filled any HDD), and thought I was compensating enough for the partial use of this laptop (not being my main machine). However, I got into gaming more and new games come out which require upwards of 50GB - I just uninstalled one which was 84GB. I have certainly learned my lesson!

I prefer the Corsair K55 keyboard myself. For the mouse I like to use the Logitech G502 Gaming Mouse. It's about 50 bucks at wal-mart. I love it because it has 2 extra buttons on the top of the mouse next to the left click button and I use them for inventory and map buttons on most games. For my actual PC I prefer AMD Ryzen CPU's and AT LEAST a gtx 1060 gpu. For cooling I prefer Corsair again. It really just depends though honestly.. With each new build I usually try to use at least 1 different part so that I can see how they work differently.

It's Insane just how much games have Increased In capacity over the years.

I remember back In 2003, when my friend Installed a few games that only used a couple of GB. I also recall visiting a website to download software, and there was a message of "large file 80Mb". Quite hilarious.

I use Logitech and HyperX right now for my peripherals. The Cloud IIs are excellent headphones for their audio quality alone, and I like to use the Romer-G switches Logitech makes for gaming as well as their wireless G703. Never going to use a wired mouse again in the future.

Currently the best brand in my opinion is Logitech. They seem to have all around the best gaming peripherals. I've always wanted Ducky Shine keyboard though. Corsair also make very nice keyboards, not huge on their mice though.
