Besides, some of my favorite games are made with Cry Engine 3.
As a matter of fact, I would say unreal engine is cheaper. You can subscribe, get the product, cancel your subscription for how long as you want, however during this time you won't recieve any updates. But if you subscribe again, you'll instantly recieve all new updates.

I myself purchased UE 4 and it's beyond easy to cancel the subscription as well so that's definitely nothing to worry about. If you or anyone else decides to use UE 4, I would love if you contact me so we can help each other out, maybe even do something together. Would be cool learning together with someone ;D
