I am thinking of moving to Gimp 2.0 then photoshop and see how nice it is.

Gimp sucks. I hate it I just stick with Photoshop, and for vfx: Sony Vegas and Adobe After FX

I use photoshop CS6 obviously. AI too.

I've always been using Photoshop for making myself forum signatures, avatars, wallpapers and other art-related pieces. Currently the version of Photoshop that I'm using is CS3, but that is subject to change, I will update it to a newer version.

I plan on getting Photoshop eventually, but for now I use Paint.net it is a free software that allows you to have several layers, and many other advanced options such as gradients. It comes in handy a lot of times.
