Personally, I actively commit all of these (except sloth and gluttony). Actions based on the sins are generally thought of as bad. When you see someone who is slothful or a glutton, you don't think much of them do you? Since the seven deadly sins pertain to Christianity, it makes sense. Christianity is a religion that promotes kindness, forgiveness, and loyalty. It isn't the first religion to have a list of sins either. People that aren't very lustful, greedy, envious, prideful, slothful, wrathful, or gluttonous are generally well-liked. I see it more as a list of bad traits than something to feel guilty about.
