Whats the point in the 7 deadly sins? - Evangelist - 03-13-2013 The sins are: Lust Greed Envy Pride Sloth Wrath Gluttony The way I see it is that we as humans cannot avoid committing any of these sins as they are committed naturally. So If anybody could tell me what's the reason on restraining our humanity? I see this as a puny attempt to guide us to perfection or a list to induce guilt on it's followers obligating people to go to church and confess what he has done, begging for forgiveness instead or learning from his past mistakes to ensure to not commit them again. RE: Whats the point in the 7 deadly sins? - ねこまっしぐら - 03-13-2013 I've done all accept Sloth. RE: Whats the point in the 7 deadly sins? - The Lonely Hacker - 03-14-2013 I see it as a point, to acknowledge what you've done wrong, but sure the 7 sins are in all of us, but its better to know that there not the basis on how we as humans should act because if it was, we couldn't be having this conversation right now, we all would be tearing each other asunder in the streets and where ever else. Course their people that just act just so the sake of "acting on instinct" but just know that we have enough intelligence to not belittle ourselfs on a animalistic bases. Think of it this way, as a little quick example, even the most fearsome warmongers that ever lived on the planet, needed a safe neutral place to sleep. RE: Whats the point in the 7 deadly sins? - Evangelist - 03-14-2013 I do not see this 7 sins as helpful as you do. See if a person acts on instinct normally comes from a sense of danger (To defend yourself) If you are being attacked you won't stop to think about the 7 deadly sins. You will strike back or just take a defensive and shielding position from the hits. Of course like anything there will always be somebody that tries to command and such so I will give you that one. Well of course, I agree 100% if your defending yourself, life and death, please defend (or kill if you have to) to your utmost ability, in fact how were made physiology enforces that principal. hah

Not Psychology made. It's how we feel as humans. We are not programmed by somebody outside to defend ourselves. It comes naturally. Oh well sorry I must have read it wrong. RE: Whats the point in the 7 deadly sins? - Sypher - 04-04-2013 Evangelist. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ikLJYuTshOg Those 7 sins are actually vital. Anyways, it's not necessarily "vital" it's just thought of as "vital" to the people who think of it this way. Whose to stop the people who aren't like any of these supposed "7 deadly sins" You know, the boring people who have no fun, nothing socially agreeable as "living life" or envious of others. Nobody is. I do see why you're thinking it's vital, but if you TRULY look at it, it's still just nature. |
