For Server, Unix... FreeBSD
For Workstation, Suse
For Work, Kali
For Embedded, Ubuntu
To accept E=MC^2 as true, and you must, for it is.
Do accept that energy and matter, are the same thing.
To code upon your mind this state machine, is to see these machines as what they truly are.

Debian. As a desktop OS, it's user-friendly but requires some background knowledge of linux at the same time which makes it convenient for everyone. As a linux server, I just prefer it over others since I've used it for so long.

For my Linux notebook currently it is Crunchbang++, however might give this "BunsenLabs" distribution a look sometime. I was previously an Arch user for a long time, but eventually got bored of having to reconfigure things all the time to get various things to work well with one another as it was having negative impacts on productivity.

+1 for #!. Been using it for years now actively testing/using Bunsenlabs. Gotta say BL is equally good with extra polish + features of course.
EDIT: BTW #!++ is not by the official #! team. BL is developed by #! enthusiasts from #! forums which can be considered the natural successor of #!.

I use Debian for all my servers because of the stability and because of apt, and Mint for all my desktops because I hate spending a lot of time configuring my system (I have a job to do, dammit!).
