What is religion to you? I don't believe in any god so religion to me is just silly.

I'd like to hear other members beliefs and perspectives.

Sums it up fine for me. I don't believe in a deity, or an omnipotent being. But, I understand why someone people turn to religion. Living is a scary thing, and sometimes you have to believe in something.

Religion is a tool for manipulation. I do however have no doubt that some part of say the bible is real and did happen, as legends are often based on real events. But I don't believe that it was the work of God. (An example would be that Jesus could have been a wandering hermit with knowledge in medicine that he used to help others fight their illnesses.)

I think of religion as another way to make money. I've heard from a few guys that work at the church, when they do the donation collecting, they make massive amounts of money, and let's be real you know it doesn't all go back to the church.

Religion is believing in something higher above, I sometimes believe in something there, for example, if something goes missing important I'll pray and search for it, if I find it;

Religion to me is something man made that was created to give people hope for when the times come when we all die. You believe in something higher up so you secure yourself instead of living in fear of dying. You more so welcome it ad go to the "after life."
