Could someone reach out to Omniscient? They likely could have stumbled into something we don’t as far as personal information goes. I guess a location would be a good start; local obituaries or death records, then local criminal records. Etc.

Those rumors have existed for years, unfortunately. Even with AI and ChatGPT as they are, I don't believe they are remotely capable of what @"mothered" was.

There’s no way we don’t find out what happens. As he says “Nevermind how, I will login”. I will keep checking back for him Sad

As will I.

My man is gone... hope he is not dead or in jail

Enjoy your life king, loved every single thread you commented on. I learned a lot as a silent reader

If I had to guess he either set up a small elite pay SE site or he has done so well over the years he's semi retired.  From reading a lot of his blog and posts and catching certain things he says that I remembered I am fairly certain he is one of the older SE's out there in the 40-45 year old range. Not too much older than me.

Maybe he's just taking a break like I have to do now every few months. Refunding tires me out faster than it did a few years ago and takes up more of my time and I don't even work and haven't in 20 years.

Hoping the best for him. He was the reason I kept coming back to this forum.

He's a great mentor and had zero ego for such a knowledgeable person.

you've been living off of refunding for 20 years ??!!?!?

He's a real person, I can vouch for that, but I can't disclose why.

There's no way to contact him, unfortunately; his OPSEC is too well-organized. So, he'll have to reach out to us, or we'll never hear from him again.

It is quite odd that his websites were being ‘targeted’ and shut down only weeks or months prior to him disappearing.. They weren’t all taken down by him were they?

Is there any way we could work together to find out anything that could solve this mystery? I’m sure using the dates of his last login and some (a metric f*ckton) of digging we may be able to find some sort of clue, arrest report; news article or something.

Unless this is all just some cruel joke to see how much we care about him… lol. But there has to be some piece of information out there, we just have to find it..

Mothered took down all his self-made websites on his own, at least that is what he told us/made us believe anyhow.

Did Mothered ever give reason(s) as to why he closed his websites?

Unless I'm mistaken, he stated it was abuse complaints or something of the sort. While he still had the domain, he chose to make the contents private going forward.

I don't want to overstep any boundaries or dive into areas that might be inappropriate, but do we have members on this forum with the expertise to conduct in- depth searches? I've tried scanning the surface web for any leads, both recent and from the past, over the past few weeks but his digital precautions seem tight. My efforts are somewhat limited without at least ONE piece of personal identifying information. I did see one the other day where someone hacked him years ago. I've been thinking daily to reach out to that person. Once I have a key piece of information, a deeper dive becomes possible. But with ethical consideration, it begs question: does he even want to be found?

IDEAS FOUND HERE & MORE:

Potential Reasons for Absence:

Operational Security Measures:
Intentional Disappearance:
Purposely going off the grid to avoid detection or attention.
Changing online identities or creating new, untraceable ones.

Secrecy and Confidentiality:
Involved in projects or activities requiring absolute secrecy and anonymity.
Tightening security measures due to perceived threats or vulnerabilities.
Security Compromise:
Discovery of vulnerabilities or breaches in their security protocols, leading to a temporary or permanent retreat.

Professional or Legal Obligations:
Legal Constraints:
Legal restrictions or gag orders preventing online communications or presence?
Involvement in legal proceedings, investigations, disputes.
Professional Commitments:
Engaged in sensitive work or projects requiring reduced public presence.
Changes in professional circumstances, like new roles or assignments, demanding strict confidentiality.
Personal or Psychological Factors:

Psychological Strain:
Psychological or emotional stress leading to a withdrawal from online activities.
A need for solitude and reflection away from digital interactions.

Personal Reevaluation:
Reevaluating online presence and interactions, leading to intentional distancing.
Personal development or transformative experiences prompting a change in online behavior.

External Circumstances or Pressures:
Coercion or Duress:
Being coerced or forced to reduce or eliminate online presence due to external threats or pressures.
Compromised personal safety leading to a retreat from public platforms !!

Unforeseen Life Changes:
Sudden and unexpected life events necessitating a shift in focus and priorities. !!
Unanticipated changes in personal circumstances or relationships affecting online interactions.

Honestly, I don't know him any better than many of you might. But from what I've seen of how he carries himself, it's genuinely impressive and praiseworthy. Commendable to say the least. I would've loved the chance to connect with him, whether that was online or in person. Maybe it's just me being emotional, but I feel like this situation should be getting a bit more attention than it currently is. From what i've seen he's had an impact in ALOT of lives here, and I think if we could bring our heads together it could be more than possible.
