RE: What does your workspace look like? #21
This is my workspace during the semester, too lazy to lug around my desktop with all my monitors, so i deal with this:

trying out Gnome + Tmux because I like the graphics. It's pretty good so far, but i find myself coming back to i3 pretty often.

tmux is fuckin' great though. Pair it with Ag, fzf, and some nifty vim plugins and it's all I really use.

tmux is screen for milenials.....

Also, why do you bother with all these GUI disasters?

Just install fluxbox and be happy. It has all of the things you need and none of those useless graphical bullshit things.

yeee not the first time i heard tmux is screen for millenials lmao.

i'm not really a fan of fluxbox... eventually i will install and use Ruwm, but that's just not done yet. I still favor i3 over everything else, it's just not the WM in the screenshot right now. if wayland does take off anytime soon, which i don't expect it too, i'll have to migrate whatever i wrote for my WM to wayland, since i'll be too tempted not too.

for now i'm sticking with i3/ gnome tho

Pic of how it looks irl

I like fluxbox because there's no overhead at all. It gives you literally the ability to min/max windows and move them around. If I could use X without a window manager I would. I don't even set a wallpaper on my machines. I like the ability of only spending a few clock cycles to render the manager and being able to unleash all 8 cores at 5.1ghz to do whatever im doing.

I have dual 4k monitors. Normally have a primary task on the first screen, and a secondary/tertiary task on the second. I'd get a 3rd monitor, but my desk is already huge and can't fit another.

I had great success getting 3 monitor vesa mounts and then just bolting them to the desk. The ones I got were like $30, made of strong steel, and even came with a clamp attachment in case you didnt want to drill holes to bolt it down.

Super expensive executive desk. Wouldn't want to drill or mount anything on it.

All my stuff is old, but it's normally free. I have a lot more than what is shown in the picture but still by todays standards none of it is top of the line. If I can fix it, build it or recycle it, I will.

Halloween is my favorite, my entire house is decorated inside and out, most of it will get boxed up but certain things like the spiders and lights are hung up year round for my own personal enjoyment, luckily my wife and family are just as weird as I am when it comes to Halloween, we have hordes of spooky decorations, costumes and makeup for it.

Nice setup @"phyrrus9".

It's futile sharing mine. I only run lappies (between 4-6), so the setup Is self-explanatory.
