I see your point, though.

Is that... is that a 1070 in a laptop? Thats beautiful. Does it ever get super hot and scary?

Yes, the GTX 1070, Quad Core CPU, SSD and 32GB of Ram.

Depending on what I'm doing, It remains relatively cool. It does have a Cool Master fan (cartridge), whereby If It starts heating up, the optical drive slides out and the cartridge takes It's place. There's also Individual cooling controls that can be directly applied.

Here's a visual of the cartridge and the laptop Itself:

That thing is a monster!!! The specs are similar to mine until the GPU/RAM lol. I almost bought the cheaper predator but I am a sucker for modest design. Thats why I chose Dell. It looks like a generic $600 laptop but the hardware is very high tier.

I've also owned Dell laptops and they've served me very well.

Although overpriced, I love the Alienware- appearance and definitely performance. My Predator Is the best In It's class at the moment, but give It a few months and better specs will be Introduced. I have 6 Predators all up, but this Is the superior of the lot.

The only issue I have with fancy design, is probability of theft. I mean what's a criminal going to steal, a red Dell Laptop, or the laptop making weird noises and creating a rave disco? lol. I hope they master Thunderbolt external GPU's. I would be so happy! Plug a Titan V into a laptop, hahaha!

Yes, well a laptop Is only as secure as It's owner.

Leave It lying around In your home (even with doors & windows securely locked), and It's there for the taking. It doesn't take much to place It at the bottom of your dirty laundry basket each time you leave home.

Ender, I know someone who brought firecrackers through and a few knives.

From this thread, it looks like many people enjoy laptops more. Are desktops made out to be more than they actually are?

I like both for different things. I'm still running a couple, almost, ten year old netbooks that still do their job fine and don't overheat. One randomly has a gig of PC2 soldered on to the board and can boot without a stick inserted. It's amusing.

It'll probably take all but 30 seconds to open the case and pull out the HDD, GPU and Ram.

I realize the sarcasm with your post.

You got it haha. I was hoping you would see that.
IN your case, yes, It would be easy to take it all and just leave the case.

Some thieves are very well organized and because of that, have time on their hands when In the process of burglary.

For example, they'll monitor the activity of their target and when they're away from home for a long duration (vacation or otherwise), they pull Into the driveway with a Telco van, uniform and a toolbox and enter the premises. Who'd question that? As far as the neighbors and any passerby are concerned, It's simply a maintenance call.
