What do you need for happiness? #1
Yesterday we talked with friends about happiness. And they understood that everyone has their own values. 50% said they want money... Evil Do you think you're happy?

And I immediately answer. I need only the love of happiness. I hope she comes soon.

Money can make a person content, but it can't buy fulfillment. Could make your life worse, too:

There's no right or wrong nor any hard and fast rules.

In my view, happiness Is the moment you awake of a morning with a smile on your face and look forward to your day with great pleasure and excitement. To maintain It, disregard all negativity. Money can certainly "bring" happiness In the form of alleviating financial stress, but cannot "buy" It.

The question was: what do you need for happiness.
Comedy.
Laughter seems to be the only thing that can bring me momentary happiness, albeit being fleeting. Being able to express my emotions also induces a bit of euphoria for me, like when playing the piano for catharsis.

As sad as it sounds I'm not sure what I need for happiness. Laughter Is a good awnser. There are a few things that briny me joy. Computers, anime, bring outside on a nice cool day and exploring. But being asked that question made me realize that I'm not sure what I need to be happy

The definition of happiness is different for everyone in today's world and relies on many variables. I'd argue however that the 1 main component to happiness is Love. Love is such a strong emotion in humans due to evolutionary reasons, it only makes sense that loving and being loved are the 2 strongest common denominators among many other variables that decides whether a person is happy or not.

I honestly feel like spending time and making memories and moments with the ones you love is the key to happiness none of that money bullshit, well I suppose that helps you make memories :/

I read the power of now like 10 times because of how much shit I had on my plate... and I really needed it. It taught me a few things about happiness and our idea about it. I basically copied Tolle's perspective. I am better of now than before, let's just say that.

tldr: basically Tolle questions our idea of happiness. what is it based on? things, accumulations of achievements, or material, status... so his argument is basically: take that away and what do you have? People loose their home, job, wife, kids, car, toys, etc... money... power. and then they are miserable.

So he substitutes seeking happiness for peace, being at peace with whatever may be unpleasant or terrible to experience, and being okay with it, to accept it. Acceptance vs resistance .Bruce Lee spoke a bit on this concept as well. being at peace is a different concept than being happy.

I've lost all my stuff before, several times, moved a lot, and am quite the nomad. So I guess it applied to me a lot. Some things I inherited by the parents... and it all started when I first started to ran away from home age 9.

screw happy, be at peace. you don't need anything at this moment, or any moment, other than yourself and your collected presence in the moment. a continuous state of meditation, acceptance, and presence to the current moment as it passes, never living in the past or future.
